Epson Salt Bath For Detoxing

I wanted to welcome Leila Firmin as one of our guest writers on the blog. She and I met at the Alissa Cohen Raw Foods Level 3 Certification in Maine, and we've been close ever since. Here, she shares with us one of her "go to" recipes for Epson Baths to accompany any detox regiment:

  • 2 cups of Epsom salt

  • 3 tbs of baking soda

  • 1 cup of apple cider vinegar (optional)

Directions; 3 times a week- fill bath tub with very warm water as much as you can stand, add all ingredients and mix. Then soak for 15-20 min. You want to sweat while in there. Have a glass of water or juice near incase any weakness. Take advantage of the time in the tub and use it for deep breathing exercise or meditation. Once finished take warm shower with a natural or sea salt soap. This is best before bed. Makes you happily sleepy.

Also great way to knock 3 detox techniques at once is by doing the facial oil pulling while the bath water is running.  Then rinse with warm towel in the shower. Always use the most natural products and safest water possible.

Benefits- Flushes toxins and heavy metals from the body. Eases muscle, aches, pain, soreness in the joints. Relieves stress, headaches, and softens the skin. Detoxifies the body from medicines and environmental exposure. Also alkalinizing to the body. This is just to name a few!
